Master of Arts in composition and music theory

The Master of Arts in composition and music theory prepare students for professional activity focused on creativity as a composer and/or teaching activity centred around music theory. 

This course is for a small number of students demonstrating exceptional creative and/or research abilities and with a large amount of autonomy, and is aimed at particularly innovative and creative professions.

COMPOSITION

Composition

This course prepares students for the profession of composer, with a written approach using all manner of forms and resources: solo, chamber music, instrumental ensembles, orchestra ensembles, voice ensembles, etc. 

COMPOSITION ordi

Composition of mixed music

This course prepares students for working as a composer, with a mixed approach using acoustic, electro-acoustic and electronic instruments for the composition, transformation and synthesis of sound.

COMPO-MIXTE-OPTION-MULTIMEDIA-2

Composition of mixed music, multimedia option

This option deals with composition at the intersection of other media and other disciplines, examining multimedia resources and inter-disciplinarity as creative subjects and concepts.  It makes it possible to explore in more depth and master the fundamental principles of electronic music and interactive media. 

THEORIE MUSICALE 2

Music theory

This programme offers advanced training in the field of music theory. The first option is oriented towards the teaching of theory up to HEM level, the second one is aimed at research and the third is aimed at the study of non-Western theories, in association with the Master’s in ethnomusicology course.
