Candidates for admission to the CAS in chamber music must hold a diploma or an equivalent qualification at master’s level from a higher school of music, or must be able to prove significant experience that is deemed to be equivalent. Moreover, they must attend as a ready-formed chamber music ensemble (for example, a singer-and-piano duo, a string trio, trio with piano, string quartet, string quartet with piano, wind quintet, brass quintet).

Individuals who do not hold a diploma from a higher school or university may be admitted to the programme if they provide some other kind of proof that they are suitable for it, and if they can provide evidence of significant experience in the field of musical production (concerts, tours, recordings, etc.).

Instrumental test
Candidate ensembles taking the instrumental test are required to present the required programme at the time of registration.  The jury decides on the works that are performed. The test lasts approximately 30 minutes. It takes place in Geneva.

Motivation interview
The candidate ensemble sets out their motivations during an interview with the jury. They must bring with them all the elements necessary in order to get to know and understand their application.  The interview will last approximately 30 minutes.
