This continuing education programme is aimed at ready-formed ensembles wishing to deepen their artistic competencies with a renowned tutor.
The content of this training represents an in-depth look at the practice of chamber music and a look at stylistic approaches in the music of the past and/or contemporary music. It is organised in such a way as to meet the needs of a ready-made ensemble looking to hone its craft (main examples: voice and piano duo, string trio, trio with piano, string quartet, quintet with piano, four hands and two pianos, wind quintet, brass quintet), not least through the flexibility of the programme as regards the demands and pace of its’ members’ working lives.
The training is structured around two modules (primary training and additional stylistic training), topped off with coursework that results in a certificate. It involves regular teaching of chamber music, and sessions and special projects on the music of the past (repertoire, playing, instruments) and/or contemporary music.
To be admitted to the course, candidates must have a degree or equivalent qualification at Master’s level from a higher school of music, or substantial experience that is deemed equivalent.
The continuing education courses offered by the HEM are approved by the State of Geneva for the annual training cheque (CAF).
