Résumé

An organist at the temple of the Fusterie, then at St Peter’s Cathedral, Nicolas Scherrer (1747-1821) taught music to the young Duke Friedrich Franz von Mecklenburg-Schwerin. This volume brings together the entirety of his known symphonic oeuvre, engraved in Geneva (c. 1780): the Six Symphonies with eight mandatory parts, work VI (2 ob., 2 horns, strings) and the Simphonie périodique (2 fl., 2 horns, strings).
