French horn

Musique ancienne

This symposium dedicated to the french horn is a continuation of the research project led by Lambert Colson under the aegis of the HEM/HES-SO. These two days offer a unique opportunity to bring together the community of french horn specialists, to present the results and perspectives of this project, and to highlight ongoing research conducted by other institutions and experts in the field.

Zinknet

The future ZINKNET platform is based on the hypothesis that establishing a link between a specific musical repertoire, instruments preserved in museums and historical musical practices would enable us to better understand the use of the cornet à bouquin during its golden age in Europe, between 1550 and 1750, and would notably modify the way it is played today and the sound offered to the public.

This online platform dedicated to the cornet au bouquin is based on the progressive integration of known sources through old catalogs as well as sources recently updated in collaboration with RISM digital, and on unpublished analyses of instruments preserved in several European museums providing new tools for makers.

The ZINKNET 2024 conference is an opportunity to present the HEM team's initial results, to bring together the research community, to exchange views on research underway in other institutions, and to reflect on future challenges.
