This course enables professional musicians to acquire a high level of qualifications by adding depth to their artistic skills with a renowned teacher.
The proposed course combines the goals of specifically honing vocal or instrumental skills with the critical thinking associated with that, and the opportunities for incorporating new skills acquired in the day-to-day practice of the profession. It is organised in such a way as to meet each musician’s individual needs when it comes to perfecting their craft. The additional objectives, and further details about the course content, are drawn up in conjunction with the course director.
The course is for musicians who have completed their initial training at a specialised higher school, or who have substantial professional experience, and who wish to continue their personal development by honing their craft in a field of performance that suits their vocal or instrumental activity.
The changes to vocal/instrumental and stylistic requirements in the world of contemporary music are here to stay. The result is that a large number of professional musicians are finding that they need to extend their studies and engage in “life-long learning”.
To be admitted to the course, candidates must have a degree or equivalent qualification at Master’s level from a higher school of music, or substantial experience that is deemed equivalent.
The continuing education courses offered by the HEM are approved by the State of Geneva for the annual training cheque (CAF).
