Computer systems can be used to assist in the creation, modification or optimization of a new design (computer-aided-design/CAD). Today, cutting-edge 3D simulation technology is offered by CAD companies for the fashion and apparel industry. Even fashion and apparel companies invest in 3D those tools, they are often not yet implemented in daily processes, as applied procedures are very different from the traditional workflow. This project reforms existing garment prototyping processes for the active sportswear sector. A strategic use of a commercial 3D simulation software, taking into account sports movements, allows the company Odlo to reduce real sample models and thus, react faster with the market and save money. The scientific objective is to further develop previous research by applying it precisely to the sports sector: derivation of precise fabric parameters for sports.
