Rosario Hurtado has been working at MA Space & Communication since 2013, when she wrote the current curriculum which continuously keeps developing and transforming in respond to shifts in socio-political-economic affairs whilst actively engaging with the international design discourse by encouraging new expanded practices. Rosario has been senior lecturer in Goldsmiths University, London from 1999 to 2017, Guest Professor in Design at the HFBK, Hamburg and lecturer at the Royal College of Art in Design Products. Founded in 1997, El Último Grito (Rosario Hurtado & Roberto Feo) define their practice as 'the thing we do in order to understand the world'. They produce work that responds to an ongoing investigation into the nature and representation of systems. This work is as much the means to analyse and advance their ideas in the subject as it is the object of the investigation itself. Their outcomes, collisions of objects, film, text, sound, graphics and constructions, are presented in various contexts ranging from publications and installations in public spaces to curatorial, editorial and academic projects. El Ultimo Grito's work has been widely published and exhibited internationally and it is part of numerous permanent collections including CNAP (Centre National des Arts Plastiques) in Paris, MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) and the MAD (Museum of Art and Design) both in New York, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Museum of Glass in Shanghai and the V&A in London. During their career they have received numerous awards such as 100% Design/Blueprint award (1999, 1998 and 1997) and Red Dot award (2010 and 2006) culminating in 2012 with the London Design Gold Medal , awarded to individuals for their unique contribution to design and more recently the 2019 Madrid Design Festival Award.
