Rosario Hurtado has been working at MA Space & Communication since 2013, when she wrote the current curriculum which she continuously keeps developing and transforming responding to shifts in the international socio-politico-economic affairs whilst actively engaging with the international design discourse. Rosario is also a senior lecturer in Goldsmiths University in London, she has been Guest Professor in Design at the HFBK in Hamburg and lecturer at the Royal College of Art in Design Products, which she left in 2013 to embark on the MA Space & Communication adventure at HEAD – Geneve. Rosario Hurtado is a founding member of El Ultimo Grito, which she runs in collaboration with Roberto Feo since 1997. El Ultimo Grito define their practice as 'the thing we do in order to understand the world', thus analysing and manipulating the signs that describe and construct our reality. In their collisions of film, text, sound, graphics and constructions they offer up new forms and directions. In our encounters with their work we are provoked and empowered to explore how we can take control of our social and physical realities. El Ultimo Grito's work has been widely published and exhibited internationally and it is part of numerous permanent collections such as CNAP (Centre National des Arts Plastiques) in Paris, MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) and the MAD (Museum of Art and Design) both in New York, Stedlijk Museum in Amsterdam, Museum of Glass in Shangai and the V&A in London. During their career they have received numerous awards such as 100% Design/Blueprint award (1999, 1998 and 1997) and Red Dot award (2010 and 2006) culminating in 2012 with the London Design Medal , awarded to individuals for their unique contribution to design.
