Local public authorities in the Grand Genève area facing the climate challenge: risks, strategies and proposals for action

This interdisciplinary research project brings together researchers from the HEG, HEPIA, HEAD – Genève and La Manufacture, interested in the issue of global warming on the territory of Grand Genève and specialized in anticipation or modeling practices in their respective fields. They propose to respond to a common problem: how to make citizens feel the future climate of Grand Genève in 2050 in order to encourage their active participation in the fight against global warming?

Following the tradition of the popular travelling festivals, this project will propose an amusement park addressing the whole population of Grand Genève on the climate issue in 2050. It will allow the population to feel the effects of global warming on urban and rural landscapes as well as on bodies. It will confront the spectators with the trade-offs to be made in their lifestyles to ensure carbon neutrality in 2050, but also with the need for collective changes.
