Presentation of the Master in Visual Knowledge
A program connected to current societal issues
The Master in Visual Knowledge trains professionals capable of transforming complex ideas into clear and engaging graphic systems, adapted to diverse audiences. The program meets a growing demand from research institutions, the media, NGOs and brands, in a society where the transmission of knowledge and mediation through images have become essential.
The image as a universal language – a vector of knowledge
Drawing on disciplines such as graphic design, illustration, data visualization, scientific drawing, and didactics, this Master's program teaches how to create innovative visual forms. You will learn to collect and analyse specialised contents (numerical, textual, and narrative) and render it in graphic and narrative form, in response to the needs of clients and future users.
Visual storytelling: more than just a drawing
Thanks to methodologies drawn from the human sciences (journalism, sociology, anthropology, etc.), you will master the art of visual storytelling, which is essential for conveying captivating, attractive, and embodied messages to your audience.
Technical skills and social commitment
The program offers solid training in analog, digital, and generative tools, while encouraging you to reflect on the impact of images in an image-saturated society. You will be encouraged to develop visuals with a strong social impact and to question your responsibility as socially engaged designers.
Learning by doing in real-life situations
You will work on real projects in collaboration with professionals to apply your technical, theoretical, and interpersonal skills. This process will help you develop your network and integrate into the workforce through practical experience. It can be complemented by an internship.
Career opportunities
On completion of the Master's program, you will be prepared for careers in a wide variety of sectors (education, media, health, finance, entertainment, NGOs) as specialised graphic designers, data designers, information visualisation consultants, scientific and didactic illustrators, motion designers, graphic facilitators or visual popularisers, etc.
