The partnership between Piaget and HEAD – Genève continues this year with a watchmaking workshop for second-year students of the Bachelor in Product, Jewellery and Accessories Design. Supervised by Valérie Ursenbacher, head of the Watchmaking Design Chair, and Laurent Davoli, watchmaking designer, this project invites our future designers to explore the codes of jewellery watchmaking.
The brief proposed by Piaget draws inspiration from the iconic success of their cocktail rings: to imagine a new watch in this bold and precious aesthetic, with no constraints on price positioning. Students freely explored the Métiers d'Art and High Jewellery universes, developing their ability to design across different segments of luxury watchmaking.
This workshop calls upon essential technical and creative skills: understanding watchmaking constraints, mastering the aesthetic codes of the cocktail theme, and translating an established brand identity into a new product. Students learnt to navigate between artistic creation and technical feasibility, whilst integrating the commercial requirements of a major watchmaking house.
The Piaget Young Talents Award will be presented on 26 March 2026 — further information is available on this page.
