STUDIO BARRUS
Besa Zajmi (1988), Alexia Sawerschel (1989) and Romana Castiglioni (1989) studied architecture together at the ETH Zurich. Since 2017, they have been running Studio Barrus, an architectural office in Zurich. Their clear position within the current architectural discourse was awarded the Foundation Award 2019 (prize for young Swiss architects). For them, architecture is an interaction between the big picture and the small personal. The spectrum of their work is broad - it ranges from careful conversion projects to residential buildings and major competition entries for educational and social institutions. Their focus, as a big elephant in the room, is always on the person and his habitat.
