Geneva Lux 2016

Monday 9 January 2017 to Sunday 15 January 2017

Geneva, City center, until the 15th of January 2017.

Geneva Lux 2016 presents 17 luminous works trough the city.

The mayor of the City of Geneva Guillaume Barazzone launched last Friday at 19 pm on l'Ile Rousseau the third edition of Geneva Lux. From this weekend until January 15, 17 luminous works by Swiss and international artists will decorate different places in Geneva.

For the first time in Geneva Lux, a "mapping" video projection will be projected every night between 5 pm and midnight (until 2 December only). The video, broadcast on the façade of the Hotel des Bergues, is inspired by the "Pêche miraculeuse", a medieval painting by Konrad Witz.

Another novelty: Geneva Lux is in the neighborhoods. Works are for example installed on the Place de la Navigation, place de Montbrillant and at the Rond Point de Plainpalais. The Rues Basses are not neglected, as 48 edelweiss signed by Mourka will make the Rue de la Croix d'Or.

In this edition, no fewer than eleven works are presented for the first time to the public. Two of them are exhibited by the Municipal Fund of Contemporary Art (FMAC) ("Pinta Cura", "The Light House"). Two others were conceived and realized by the Geneva School of Art and Design (HEAD) which collaborates each year with Geneva Lux.

The full program and details of the works can be found on the event website: www.genevalux.ch
