Workshop Fantastic containers 2030 – 2050

June 2017

Workshop led by Albert Schrurs, assisted by Wendy Gaze.

At the dawn of 2020, we need to think about 2030 or 2050. In this six-moths workshop students have been concerned with the spaces and ways of life of our near future. They had to imagine the interiors of a 12 meters boat container, to meet the needs of fictional characters of the future. Utopian universe, nostalgic backtracking, or vision of the future, the workshop was the occasion for a current reflection on urbanism, globalization and ecology.

To encourage innovation, the USM Foundation has awarded a scholarship (USM Design Grant) to the project Bee House by Victor Duterme, one of the projects resulting from the workshop.
