As part of the “Generative Design” course for the spring semester 24/25, supervised by Anette Lenz and Nicolas Baldran, second-year Bachelor's students in Visual Communication worked in groups to develop graphic proposals for the visual identity of the first edition of the UPLOAD graphic design biennial.
Following a presentation of the proposals to the project managers of the municipality of Plan-les-Ouates, the final choice was made in favor of the project by Maïlys Crovara Pescia and Théo Mathieu, who continued their work in July 2025, supervised by Linda Forestieri, assistant in the department.
A system of superimposed DIN-format rectangles forms the basis of the identity. Very simple, with black as the only color, it allows content to be arranged in a playful and dynamic way, evoking both the world of printed paper and the vitality of digital communication. The snakes containing text and images move to form loops and arabesques, showcasing the diversity of the graphic approaches on display. This identity also takes the form of signage, with information applied directly to A4 sheets in the exhibition space.
