Studio – Urban Infrastructure

October 2019 to January 2020

Studio tutor : Line Fontana
Assistant : Dafni Retzepi

In a continuous effort to “renew the city from the inside”, the studio focuses on the neglected and uncompleted heritage of the city of Athens, heritage that represents a major part of the city’s urban fabric, the potential of which the workshop aims to reveal. Based on the city’s shortage of public spaces, squares, parks and urban infrastructure for residents and with the aim of making ours the idea of multiplying the city’s grounds for public and shared use rather than for private and speculative purposes, the workshop offers to take over these structures in order to produce a vertical public space that lengthens the horizontal space of the street.
