Studio - Energy / Climatic Interiors

January 2020

Studio tutor:  Philippe Rahm
Assistant: Phi Nguyen

Our ambition is to discover, invent and offer a new style in the History of Decorative Arts which would come after the Regency, Louis XV, Empire or Louis-Philippe Styles. We call this “Anthropocene”, an elegant and innovative response to the contemporary challenges of sustainable development, reducing energy and greenhouse gas emissions as well as the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

To this end, we are rethinking each of the formal and material choices of the secondary elements of interior construction: cladding and finishing materials and their design and modification of the floor, walls, ceiling, lighting, and ventilation. The goal is to re-engage “surmobilier” or “emmobilier” to reduce energy consumption, improve the thermal envelope, airtightness and ventilation, manage water vapor and condensation problems, all in the interests of sustainable development and the fight against global warming.
