The studio explores the definition of a new decorative art, resulting from the climate change. Until the invention of central heating and air conditioning, at the beginning of the 20th century, interior decoration, with its curtains, screens, carpets, paneling or tapestries, played a major role in the regulation of interiors’ spaces comfort, facing cold winter or hot summer. 

Relegated to the rank of superfluous during modernity, interior decoration is back in force today, responding to new thermal regulations fighting against global warming. The studio aims to explore the technological and aesthetic potential to define a new decorative style of our time: the Anthropocene Style. 

In order to concretely realize their ideas, students transformed the interior of the gatehouse of the former Elna building (Avenue de Châtelaine 7, Geneva) into an interior-witness of this new decorative style. The project was presented during HEAD Open Doors in January 2019.
