In 2023, the exhibtion SPIRITS: Excellent for the head, designed by students of the Master Space and Communication at HEAD – Geneva celebrates the spirit and legacy of female designers with a series of glasses and cocktails. It is a tribute to Ray Kaiser-Eames, Daisy Ginsberg, Eileen Gray, Anab Jain, Sophie Taeuber-Arp, Magdalene Odundo and Valentine Schlegel in a repertoire of more than 260 creators, most of them overlooked by history. Playing-on both festive and political interpretations of the Speakeasy, an illicit establishment for consumption of spirits during Prohibition in the US, designers students of the MA Space & Com will pay homage to a lineage of designers stressing out the importance of restoring the invisibility ` illicit” women and non-westerners designers that did and do matter.
