Every year the sound workshop run and instigated by Dominic Robson & Arno Mathies, attempts to explore the medium of sound within the design process of the designer. The main thematic of the workshops evolves year to year, seeking to investigate and offer new formats for sound and design. Before commencing with the main project and to familiarise the students with the medium, a first short exercise was launched to produce a 1 minute sound movie. 

Following this introduction, the subject of movement was explored by researching the capacity of movement and sound to build sound machine/installations generating a performance or interaction within a space. The outcomes were a series of machines built from hacking simple device or objects together. These machines were either interactive or self generating, formulating unique sounds and interactions.
