Introduction to Coppersmithing in Product Design, Jewelry, and Accessories with Fabrice Schaefer: Traditional Craft at the Service of Design
In the Product Design, Jewelry, and Accessories section of HEAD – Geneva, students have the opportunity to discover coppersmithing, a rare craft taught by Fabrice Schaefer, a professor trained by masters in the field. Coppersmithing involves shaping sheets of metal, such as copper and brass, through hammering and forming techniques, without the use of welding.
This introduction is part of an educational approach that values both traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. Students explore ancestral techniques while developing modern creative skills, allowing them to enhance their expertise and design objects that blend tradition with innovation.
