Inaugural Week – Cafeteria H

Few spaces better represent the contemporary ambiguity between leisure and work than the cafeteria. Originally places for meals and drinks, contemporary cafeterias have become by definition social condensers: places to gather and exchange ideas, projects and dreams.

During the Inaugural Week of 2019, students from the Bachelor program in Interior Architecture realized with Fala Atelier proposals for the Cafeteria at Building H, HEAD-Genève, under the theme neutral vs specific. The intervention conceived for the inaugural week proposes a series of installations inserted within the structural grid of the space. Each of these installations expresses a neutral face when not in use, but reveals its specificity when opened to serve its unique function. The cafeteria thus becomes a space of discovery and potentialities. Its flexibility is renewed, enriched.
