Cross-disciplinary workshop: Illustration & Visual Communication

Teachers :
Dimitri Broquard and Clément Paurd

As part of a workshop in collaboration with Hermès, 15 third-year students responded to the theme “Word games” to design the legendary 90 x 90 cm silk square.
The project began in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, at the heart of the history of the family business founded in 1837. The students were able to discover the contemporary craftsmanship that characterizes the brand, as well as its humanist values that have been passed down through the generations. Building on this immersion, they then spent six weeks working on a meticulous project, exploring letters and writing as graphic forms. Their goal: to come up with a bold and unique square, which they presented to the final jury at Hermès.
