Eric Horovitz Foundation x HEAD – Genève 2025

January 2025 to February 2025

Once again this year, the Eric Horovitz Foundation and HEAD – Geneva are offering students in Jewellery and Accessory Design the opportunity to compete for the Eric Horovitz Foundation Prize. To win, they must reinterpret the design of a piece from Mme Horovitz’s personal collection.

The Eric Horovitz Foundation and HEAD – Geneva have renewed their collaboration by relaunching this prestigious award, aimed at students in Jewellery and Accessory Design. This prize immerses future designers in real-world professional conditions, preparing them for the challenges they will face in their careers.

For the competition, Mme Horovitz provided a jewellery piece from her collection, which students were invited to redesign using 3D modeling and printing tools. The challenge was to reuse all the precious stones from the original piece to create a design that reflected both their own identity and Mme Horovitz’s artistic vision. The final creations were evaluated based on their innovation, aesthetic coherence, and technical feasibility.

The workshop concluded with a presentation before a jury composed of Christine Horovitz, President and Founder of the Eric Horovitz Foundation; Mathieu Dekeukelaire, Board Member of the Eric Horovitz Foundation and Director of GemGenève; David Roux-Fouillet, Head of Product, Jewellery, and Accessory Design & Chair of Watch Design at HEAD – Geneva; and Astrid Alberto, 3D modeling instructor and designer.

This year, the Eric Horovitz Prize was awarded to Maëlle Lezebot for her project Les bagues de Madame Flöge and Basil Oulevey for his project Oxymore. Their proposals stood out for their creativity, technical mastery, and contemporary reinterpretation of jewellery design. Impressed by their approach, Mme Horovitz recognized their projects, and the Foundation is committed to supporting the winners with a tailored mentorship program to bring their designs to life, aligned with their aspirations and artistic vision.

This initiative highlights emerging talent, bridging contemporary design and traditional jewellery craftsmanship, and contributes to the recognition of young designers on both the Geneva and international scene.
