Course - L'Escabeau-belle
In the Theory and Practice of Construction course, students are invited to design and build an everyday object.
This year, the course questions the contemporary use of the “escabeau” or “escabelle”, through a study of its form, construction and materiality.
The “escabeau”, from the Latin scabellum, was originally a wooden seat, without arms and generally without a back, in the form of a small bench or stool. Similarly, the “escabelle” is a small seat with three legs under a wooden base.
