Through a thorough analysis of Rodolphe Töpffer's comics, we will try to identify all the effects produced by the basic narrative mechanisms of comics. This analysis will help us better understand how these effects can produce new aesthetic phenomenas. The results of this analysis will be used as raw material for an experimental documentary video-essay whose objective will be to show the work of Töpffer by replaying the mechanisms of comics through the means of cinema.
