Soucoupes Volantes - Exhibition in the Porcelain Factory Langenthal/CH
The students in fine art, Option Contruction - sculpture, objects, installation in collaboration of the CERCCO , was fascinated by the history and stories surrounding the Langenthal porcelain factory. A group of 23 students participated in a workshop dedicated to this unique industrial heritage in Switzerland. This project is linked to the international research project Topographies of the Obsolete.
The young artists were impressed by the buildings that still house the big oven, a lot of furniture, work equipment, materials, industrial carts, and all the porcelain transfer papers and their different printing technologies that have remained almost intact since the activities stopped. The result is a multitude of artistic proposals of very different natures, largely made with elements from the factory, which question and reinterpret this heritage in a contemporary way.
