Mondes Parlés: Adèle Yon
Lecture / Meeting
The Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève and HEAD – Genève are pleased to continue the Spoken Worlds program in collaboration with Emmanuelle Pireyre, writer and head of the writing workshop at HEAD – Genève.
Spoken Worlds invites authors or artists who work with writing to present a reading/performance of their text, followed by a discussion.
Adèle Yon will present a reading from Mon vrai nom est Elisabeth (2025, éditions du sous-sol) and will be in conversation with Emmanuelle Pireyre about this powerful book, at the crossroads of several genres: autobiographical narrative, road trip, and essay. The narrator investigates a family event: the lobotomy of her great-grandmother in 1950. Through her voice, archives, and interviews, multiple stories unfold—those of the weight of heredity, violence against women, psychiatric practices in the second half of the twentieth century, and a large bourgeois family filled with its share of secrets.
Born in 1994 in Paris, Adèle Yon investigates, writes, and cooks. A researcher in film studies, she began writing while working on her PhD within the SACRe research-creation laboratory.
The author will hold a book signing session following her reading, organized in collaboration with Payot Genève, present on site to sell the book.
