As part of the MIDIS ARCHI lecture series, you are cordially invited by the Interior Architecture Department of HEAD – Genève to attend Septembre conference, which will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.

Septembre
approaches domesticity as a lever for transforming the city. Led by Sami Aloulou, Mémia Belkaïd, and Lina Lagerström — three partners whose backgrounds, cultures, and personal ties reinforce the collective vocation of their practice, one deeply oriented toward others.
Septembre pursues an ongoing exploration of hybridizing scales, from the intimate to the collective, from the domestic to the urban, in order to foster greater proximity and connection. From an initial self-built cabin on a Scandinavian island to the ongoing transformation of a former garage for RIVP, from their first timber rooftop housing extensions in Paris to an award-winning socio-cultural center in Paris that received the Prix de la Première Œuvre, and from projects in Sweden to the transformation of Porte de Montreuil — 283 housing units for Paris Habitat — Septembre privileges precision of intervention in order to amplify uses and possibilities. One can enter Septembre’s architecture through the kitchen: a cornerstone of urban life, of both the health of the human body and the social body. Through its own methodology for transforming inhabited sites, and with a keen awareness of the overall economy of projects, Septembre now engages with major scales of urban transformation — housing, public facilities, and workplaces, in France and internationally. Aware of the ecological, social, and economic fragility of today’s world, Septembre develops architectural and urban responses grounded in the intuition that beauty emerges from what is just.
