MIDIS ARCHI - David Benjamin

Conference

As part of the MIDIS ARCHI lecture series, you are cordially invited by the Interior Architecture Department of HEAD – Geneva to attend La dalle conference, an exploration by David Benjamin, which will take place on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

David Benjamin is Founding Principal of The Living and Associate Professor at Columbia GSAPP. His work combines biology, computation, and sustainability. He believes buildings are dynamic systems rather than static objects, and he is currently focused on designing strategies for decarbonization that scale up.

Recent projects include the Princeton University Embodied Computation Lab (a new building for architecture research), The Phoenix (a 300-unit affordable housing complex with a novel carbon-negative facade), and Alive (a probiotic pavilion for the Venice Architecture Biennale). Benjamin edited the book “Embodied Energy and Design: Making Architecture Between Metrics and Narratives.”
