Mondes parlés : Phoebe Hadjimarkos Clarke

Reading / Performance

Les Mondes Parlés invites audiences to immerse themselves in the diverse practices of reading.
Through a community of voices, these evenings seek to trace invigorating paths of thought.
The Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève is delighted to continue the Mondes Parlés programme for its ninth edition, in collaboration with Fabienne Radi and Emmanuelle Pireyre,
both authors and educators, who lead the writing workshop at HEAD – Geneva.

As part of this series, we invite you to attend a talk by Phœbe Hadjimarkos Clarke on Wednesday, 14 May 2025, at 6:30 PM, on the HEAD campus.

Aliène, by Phœbe Hadjimarkos Clarke

Aliène follows Fauvel, a thirty-something who has been permanently injured by a rubber bullet during a protest. Tasked with looking after the cloned dog of a friend’s father, she unexpectedly finds herself investigating mysterious alien abductions—between rolling joints.Set against a backdrop tinged with the surreal, the novel explores fear, power dynamics, and the narratives that shape our world and our understanding of it.
