Les Mondes parlés invites authors and artists who write to give a reading/performance of their work, followed by a discussion. This year's theme is the transition from one language to another, as we all have experiences with languages – our mother tongue, foreign languages, languages we have learned or forgotten – that deeply connect us to our history.

Deniz and Andrea are living the perfect love story in Switzerland. And now a multitude of possibilities are opening up: a job in China, dumplings, the drag experience... perhaps a separation. Eager for freedom, the two protagonists will have to make choices.

On stage, voices and music combine, alternate, and take turns to immerse the audience in a story where bodies intertwine, stand apart, or confront each other. Ed Wige (text) joins forces with Valérie Niederoest (music) to create a performance at the crossroads of music and literature, based on a text of the same name published by Paulette éditrice in 2025.

This performance received support from the Givel Foundation.

Ed Wige is a Swiss explorer-writer. A member of various literary collectives such as Particules and AJAR, she is particularly fond of collaborative writing, which gives rise to readings, performances, books, plays, and unidentified literary objects. Her first book, Milch Lait Latte Mleko (Paulette éditrice, 2023), won the 2024 Swiss Literary Prize.

Valérie Niederoest is a singer, guitarist, and keyboardist. She was a member of the band Meril Wubslin for 15 years. Co-founder of the band Toboggan, she previously toured Europe with this group. She has written music for films by Emmanuelle Antille (Rollo) and Marina Rosset (La Fille aux feuilles). At the same time, she co-directs the cultural production company SALVE prod & tech.

The Geneva Contemporary Art Centre is delighted to continue the Mondes Parlés programme for the 10th year, with the collaboration of Emmanuelle Pireyre, author and head of the writing workshop at HEAD – Geneva.
