As part of the Making Art for Whom? lecture series organised by the Fine arts Department, we are pleased to invite you to Ceren Ozpinar's lecture on Monday 12 May 2025 at 6pm on the HEAD Campus.

Ceren Ozpinar
Dr. Ceren Özpınar is a Senior Lecturer in Art History and Visual Culture at the University of Brighton.
Her research centres on questions of gender, sexuality, race, and transnational networks and communities in modern and contemporary art of Turkey, the Middle East, and their diasporas. She is the co-editor of Under the Skin: Feminist Art and Art Histories from the Middle East and North Africa Today (OUP, 2020), and the author of The Art Historiography in Turkey (1970-2010) (Tarih Vakfı, 2016).
Her articles appeared in the Art JournalArt & the Public SphereImage & Text, and Third Text. Dr Özpınar sits on the Editorial Board of Art History, and Feminist Art Practices and Research: Cosmos.

She is Advisory Board member for Sheikh Zayed Visual Arts Series at American University of Beirut Press, and for Manazir, a peer-reviewed journal and online platform for the study of visual arts, architecture and heritage in the Middle East and North Africa.

Ceren also sits on Association for Art History’s Higher Education Committee (UK).
