Talents committed to creating inclusive fashion, combining aesthetics and functionality
The Visual (Archives) Society studio, in collaboration with the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation (SPF) and HEAD's Fashion department, will present the ADAPT by SPF x Visual (Archives™) project:
This innovative adaptive fashion design project, carried out in collaboration with the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation, students from HEAD's fashion, jewellery and accessories department, Visual (Archives™) aims to create clothing that responds to today's functional and aesthetic codes while specifically meeting the needs of paraplegics.
Coordinated and co-designed with the help of Victor Prieux, freelance designer at the Visual (Archives™) Society studio and artistic collaborator in the fashion department at HEAD Geneva, the project began with a visit to Nottwil (CF Photos), the headquarters of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation. This immersion provided an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the specific needs and challenges of paraplegics, and to design garments adapted to their day-to-day requirements.
More than just an educational initiative, the project benefited from the expertise of several talented students: Rubene Dimetto (Bachelor Fashion Design), Clarice Pasternak (Bachelor Jewellery Design) and Ewen Danzeisen (Master Fashion Design). Each was able to contribute during the research phase, with skills in iconographic research, moodboards, concepts, technical drawings, illustration, jewellery, fashion and product design, mock-ups, etc.
The resulting collection, comprising five outfits, will be presented at Mode Suisse this coming Monday.
