GEMGENÈVE X HEAD

Engagement Jewels

For its 8th edition, the GemGenève international jewelry show, to be held at Palexpo from May 09 to 12, 2024, will welcome second-year Bachelor in Jewelry Design students from HEAD – Genève, for an exhibition of their creations.

For the 4ᵉ consecutive year, GemGenève will offer some fifteen students their first exhibition based on a theme freely inspired by the programming of the Grand-Théâtre de Genève.
Visitors to the show will have the chance to discover a series of projects inspired by Richard Strauss's opera "Der Rosenkavalier" (The Knight of the Rose).

Through a pedagogical project developed throughout the year, the students imagined jewelry symbolizing commitment, in homage to Richard Strauss's opera Der Rosenkavalier (The Knight of the Rose).
In Strauss's opera, the Chevalier gives his beloved a silver rose to symbolize his love and commitment to her. Imagining and reinventing the jewel of commitment, with all its symbolism, ceremonial and personal implications, sublimating all kinds of materials, giving them an emotional charge and an aesthetic meaning: such were the challenges to be met on this highly committed project.
The workshop was led by Valentina Brugnatelli, a designer specializing in luxury jewelry for major fashion houses, in collaboration with the Grand-Théâtre de Genève and sponsored by the GemGenève jewelry show.

On this occasion, all visitors will be invited to vote for their favorite project, which will win the "Coup de Coeur du Public" prize. The Award Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 11 at 3pm.
There are two ways to vote:

  • on site: a ballot box will be available to visitors on Stand EC01
  • online, by clicking on this link (before 12:00 on Saturday May 11).
