Noam Toran will present recent projects from his practice, with a focus on research methods, ‘behind-the scenes’ production processes, and strategies for artistic programming.

Noam Toran’s artistic and educational projects involve the creation of intricate narratives developed as a means to disrupt hegemonic historiographies. Drawing from neglected histories, specifically the histories of working classes, unions and marginalised political groups, Toran reflects upon the interrelations of memory, erasure, mythology, identity, and the essential force of storytelling. The works are materialised through fictional dramatisations that take the form of installations, pedagogic models, films, performances and scripts.

His work is exhibited, screened and published internationally, notably at the CNAC Pompidou (Paris), Kunsthalle Wien (Vienna), Venice Architecture Biennale, Victoria & Albert Museum (London), Israel Museum (Jerusalem), Kuntinstituut Melly (Rotterdam), MuHKA (Antwerp), Museum of Modern Art (NYC), Lisbon Architecture Triennale, Schirn Kunsthalle (Frankfurt), Musée d’Art Contemporain (St Etienne), Baltic Contemporary (Newcastle), NY MoMA, Frac Ile-de-France (Paris), Arnolfini Gallery (Bristol), Center for Contemporary Art (Tel Aviv), Musée D’Art Moderne (Luxembourg), Kulturhuset (Stockholm) and Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin). Noam Toran is represented by Rawart Gallery in Tel Aviv.
