Talking Heads avec Lars Müller, Editeur, Zürich
Born in Oslo in 1955 and settled in Switzerland since 1963, Lars Müller established Lars Müller Publishers in 1982, a publishing house renowned internationally for its carefully edited and designed publications. Lars Müller Publishers have released approximately 600 publications to date at a rate of twenty per year, and have now become an international reference in terms of publications relating to architecture, contemporary art, design and contemporary photography.
After studies in Graphic Design in Zurich and later with Wim Crouwel in Amsterdam, Müller opened his own studio in Baden, near Zurich. A teaching enthusiast, he has worked with several universities in Switzerland and Europe and has recently taught at UCLA. Müller sits on a number of juries, academic or other. From 2009 to 2015, he was a member of the jury of the Design Preis Schweiz, as well as the President of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) from 2013 to 2015. As an editor and designer, Müller is in a league of his own, thanks to a coherent catalogue of publications that are often considered artworks in themselves.
