Nathalie Du Pasquier was born in 1957 in Bordeaux. She moved to Milan in 1979, where she was a founder of the Memphis group around Ettore Sottsass. She is known for having designed the "decorated surfaces" composed of characteristic patterns applied to fabrics, carpets, plastics and laminates used on objects, furniture or ceramics or clothes ("Do not Take These Drawings Seriously, 1981-1987" 2015 Power House Books, New York); and more recently, for working in the field of design with Wrong for HAY, and fashion with American Apparel. Since 1986, she has mainly devoted to painting, developing a work whose objects are the main actors.
