Eric Giroud, born in Switzerland, was immersed in the world of art and culture from a very young age. Passionate about art and music, he has cultivated an enthusiastic, open-minded view of the world since he was a young boy.
From music, which he studied until the age of 20, to architecture, which he pursued professionally until his thirties, his career is nurtured by the arts. In 1990 he opened his own architecture studio before two years later embarking on a year-and-a-half-long trip to Dakar in Senegal.
This life-changing personal adventure accentuates his desire to experience the world. As soon as he returned, he dabbled with graphics, packaging and product design, working with design agencies in Switzerland and across the world. He also sampled contemporary art, soon becoming a connoisseur and collector. The line between passion and work soon evaporated when he established his own design agency in 1998. He continued to fuse artistic universes to create designs which would earn him the highest regard from the profession.

The world of watchmaking became his favourite field of expression. He went on to collaborate with some of the biggest names in the watchmaking industry as well as numerous luxury brands and labels.
His work has been awarded many prizes:

Prize for the Best Complicated Watch at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix in 2007 for the Tourbillon Glissière - Harry Winston.

Prize for the Best Design Watch at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix in 2009 for the Opus 9 watch - Harry Winston.
