Talking Heads avec Jean-Paul Lespagnard, designer de mode
En discussion avec Luca Marchetti, professeur en MA Design Mode et accessoires

Jean-Paul Lespagnard is a Belgian fashion designer based in Brussels. He has been showing his women's ready to wear collection in Paris since March 2011.
After his studies in Visual arts and Fashion design, Jean-Paul Lespagnard worked alongside Anna Sui for two collections and assisted Annemie Verbeke before creating his own brand due to the success of his «Jacquelines» at the FIAMH 2008.

Jean-Paul Lespagnard combines a great sense of fashion with a fascination for art and popular culture, in all its shapes and forms. All Jean-Paul Lespagnard's creations reveal an overflowing imagination. He eloquently succeeds in communicating his optimistic universe where originality goes hand in hand with a playful irreverence for the classical wardrobe. He likes to say that he prefers to dress a mood than a physic. Passionate about scenic arts, he has created the costumes for several theatre and dance productions such as Liesbeth Gruwez. He works regularly with choreographer Meg Stuart.

The Jean-Paul Lespagnard woman is a foxy lady going her own way and making individual choices, thriving on interesting encounters and surprising experiences. She is at the same time self-aware and knows how to make fun of herself. She celebrates life and personal freedom. Arrogance is not to be found in this girl's dictionary. She sparkles, combining optimism with a great sense of humor. Jean-Paul Lespagnard offers luxury: not material luxury but the real thing: the elegance to be who you want to be.
