Swiss industry has to meet numerous challenges. Due to the high cost of indigenous production, it is essential to develop new techniques that are less costly, difficult to copy and environmentally friendly.
Also, in the context of scarcity of natural resources and climatic disruption, it is also essential to support the emergence of eco-designed products.
To provide solutions to this, the scope of action of the Advanced Manufacturing group is applied to the following themes:
This is the context in which the group is active through teaching and research projects in 3D scanning and reverse engineering, in dimensional metrology, in electrical discharge machining (EDM) and LASER micro-machining.
Furthermore, the Group relates these functions specific to manufacturing with eco-design tools for the development of new products.
