From the Patinas Workshop to the CONTRASTE Exhibition
Second-year students from the Bachelor in Jewellery and Accessories Design exhibited their creations at the CONTRASTE exhibition from 23 to 31 January 2026 at Galerie Annick Zufferey in Carouge. The opening reception on 22 January attracted a large audience, and several pieces were sold during the exhibition-sale.
The exhibited pieces were created during the "Patinas" workshop led by designers Ambroise Degenève and Juan Galan Bello. During this workshop, students developed their technical skills by working on metal surface finishes through chemical and mechanical processes: controlled oxidations, patinas, textures and polished finishes.
The project involved creating a pair of earrings exploring the theme of contrast. This formal constraint allowed students to combine creative experimentation and technical rigour, exploring variations in metallic tones and surface oppositions while respecting the manufacturing requirements of contemporary jewellery.
A wonderful opportunity for our students to see their work result in a professional exhibition in a Carouge gallery, and to present their creations to the public.
