The Rumines disputes, in the form of mock trials played out by real magistrates, struck again when, on 2 and 16 November :

• Agriculture :10,000 years old, which had to face a popular jury at the Palais de Rumine. Its main fault, according to the prosecutor's indictment: having breached the penal standard of the law on environmental protection through its ‘addictive, and often disproportionate, use of certain toxic products and substances with well-known deleterious effects’.
• Medicine: criticised for being hyper-complex, increasingly technical and impersonal, medicine is accused of being a prisoner of poor regulation and paralysed by vested interests. It can no longer control its costs. Meanwhile, demand is rising, inefficiencies are spreading, staff shortages are increasing and the system is becoming bureaucratised. Many carers and patients are disillusioned. The long humanist tradition of care is under threat.

Each trial was preceded by a workshop that gave the public (who took on the role of the grand jury at the end of each trial) the opportunity to find out more, read the trial proceedings and explore some practical projects or utopias.
To illustrate the moment, Bachelor of Illustration students submitted their drawings, which were published in the press. It was a perilous but successful exercise, involving covering the subject without being exhaustive, remaining relevant to the final reader, and then acting in real time.
