Master Media Design at GIFF 2024

Virtual Territories I: Swissphoria
Mathilde Schibler and Océane Serrat, second-year students, present Sending a Signal, an intriguing interactive experience. Visitors will receive a personalized postcard, which could be their most cherished memory... unless it self-destructs almost instantly, highlighting the ecological impact of our tourist activities.

NeoDoc: Soon to Disappear
Andreia Rodrigues, alumna of the Master Media Design, presents Soon to Disappear, an augmented reality piece that captures and shares the stories of communities living in buildings destined for demolition. This project offers a profound reflection on our relationship with built heritage. It is part of the NeoDoc collection, dedicated to new documentary forms, and was developed as part of a residency funded by the Pôle de création numérique.

Swiss Interactive Sessions at GDM
Amaury Hamon, a 2024 graduate of the Master Media Design, will present his project Pathways as part of the GDM. Pathways is a website that allows for contemplative exploration of networked media, immersing users in an evolving 3D landscape of handpicked content, breaking away from the passive, linear scrolling of algorithmic feeds.
