Un tableau sur le plafond de la Twingo

Drawing is essential to my life. It is a way of expressing myself. Drawing as a means of expression is a principle that runs throughout my collection. It is through its means, and my awkward, irregular but vigorous illustrations that I invent my silhouettes. I named these silhouettes “ homme-dessin” (man-drawing). The shoulders are wide and the pants flared: the pieces are meant to look like they have been designed in two dimensions. I have explored a wide range of painterly techniques. The checks are paintings on paper printed on fabrics. The pants are hand-painted. The quilts made of recycled fabrics form prints. Steam-pleated clothes are reminiscent of crumpled paper. I borrow codes from certain movements like the punks, the zazous or bikers but I am also inspired by music and the banlieue (suburbs). The accessories are key elements. The hats are coated to look like a palette of paint left to dry. The small removable pockets move on the jacket, the gloves and the hats are covered with jewels that form patterns. The shoes look like 3D drawings. Recycled rubber threads give them a sculptural appearance. The ceramic belt buckles and aluminum and brass buttons are unique.

The clothes are my paintings. The drawings come to life. Now they exist, they embody different personalities and states of mind through the attitude I have created: sincere, gentle, nonchalant, and sensitive.
