The Master Space and Communication is an experimental design program that, through inquiry-based practices, explores the interstices between object, film, performance, media and space as an interface for communication and experimentation.
The Space and Communication Master's degree is a program, which is situated on the fringe of traditional design.  It seeks new convergences between design and other thought processes or disciplines, such as film, speculative fiction, political theory and sociology, which makes design relevant.
The Space and Communication master's degree considers design as an essential and challenging "verb" (to "design"). Our conception of design is about engaging with the world and bringing about change. It is not an autonomous "discipline" framed by its traditional theoretical and commercial origins.
Through practical and theoretical workshops, the program constantly questions what design can or could be (thus influencing the constant positioning of the program). Each year, in a curious and collective way, it is questioned, which allows to raise all its potential.
The production of the students is thus very varied from one year to the next. From the conception of time-travelling narratives to the conception of alternative political movements, speculative societies, modes of communication, etc.
The master's degree is a dialogue between the past, present, and future through a nuanced and informed approach that is rooted in historical research, contemporary social and political debates, and speculative propositions.
