The work, installed in the two English courts of the new Maternity building, was made possible by the budget allocated to the Fonds cantonal d’art contemporain by the Finance Department, as part of the implementation of the new Maternity.

The tiles constituting the work were manufactured by the Cercco, Center for Experimentation and Realisation in Contemporary Ceramics.

For her intervention, Mimosa Echard relies on prints and molds of plants, roots, lichens, medicines and found objects around Geneva. It connects the building and its medical, social and symbolic anchorage to what forms the fundamental structure: the complext chemical and biological processes that occur both inside the body and in the outside world.
