New Heads 2021 : Romane Chabrol

Created in 2012, the New Heads prize offers emerging artists who have obtained their Master's degree in Visual Arts from HEAD – Geneva the opportunity to present their work in a professional context. To this end, two institutions are invited to each select and present the work of a young graduate. In 2022, New Heads moved to the Kunsthaus Glarus where the work of Romane Chabrol will give several live concerts at Kunsthaus Glarus.
The concerts will take place on 19.2. (21:00), 20.2. (16:00), 4.3. (16:00), 5.3. (16:00), 7.5. (21:00) and 8.5. (4:00 p.m.)

Romane Chabrol creates musical compositions from the combinatorial handling of electronic and acoustic instruments. She works with sound fragments from piano, harmonium, violin, guitar, synthesizer, computer, recording device. The musical structure of the pieces resembles those broad, contemplative, stirring tendencies of a film score.

Chabrol has created a new composition for the Kunsthaus Glarus, which can be heard and experienced in a spatial situation designed along the architecture of the Kunsthaus in a sound installation and at several live concerts.
