As part of the LUNDIS - LIVRES programme, we are delighted to invite you to meet Maëlys Tirehote-Corbin, who will be presenting Le métier d'illustrateurice d'hier à aujourd'hui : enjeux et perspectives.
In this talk, the evolution of the profession of illustrator is examined in the light of gender dynamics, from the mid-twentieth century to the present day. This presentation will provide an opportunity to look back at changes in working conditions, the links between France, Belgium and Switzerland, as well as the gendered division of labour and pay conditions, based on Jessica Kohn's book, Dessiner des petits mickeys. Une histoire sociale de la bande dessinée en France et en Belgique (1945-1968), 2022.
LUNDIS-LIVRES
What are books for? What role should books play in art and design studies? How does fiction nourish the critical essay, or vice versa? And how does the form of the book add to the meaning of the subject?
The LUNDIS-LIVRES programme offers privileged opportunities for discussion with leading figures from the fields of art and design, whose works feed into and advance our practice. These meetings, conferences and workshops are public and open to the entire HEAD community.
