HEAD – Geneva launches its first film festival
The Cinema Department is pleased to invite you to the first edition of the HEAD CINEMA FESTIVAL, which will take place from Wednesday, June 19 to Saturday, June 22, 2024, on the HEAD Campus and at the Parc Gustave & Leonard Hentsch.

ON THE AGENDA:

- Four evenings of outdoor screenings featuring 31 new workshop and diploma films that have won numerous international awards.

- A public masterclass on Wednesday, June 19 at 6 PM with the American director and cinematographer Kirsten Johnson (with over 90 films to her credit, including the camera work for the Oscar-winning film "Citizen Four" by Laura Poitras). - Two Professional Days for emerging talents, Wednesday, June 19 and Thursday, June 20, with presentations and meetings with partners such as Cinéforom, RTS, Fonction Cinéma, Swiss Films, Aropa, SSFV, ARF/FDS, Focal, SWAN, and other institutions, along with directors from national festivals like Visions du Réel, GIFF, and the International Short Film Festival of Winterthur.

- The Geneva premiere of the animation Mawtini by Tabarak Allah Abbas, winner of the Opening Scenes Award at Visions du Réel 2024 and the Arts & Humanity Award.

- The documentary series Paléo Festival, an Odyssey 1976 - 2022" created by the students of the ECAL/HEAD Master of Cinema.

Filmmakers, alumni, partners, and those interested in the future of Swiss cinema are invited to discover the creations of our students, who are shaping the cinema of today and tomorrow.
